I've found the causes of the issue:
- affiliation was removed when the nickname was unregistered (this happened while leaving a room from Siskin)
- affiliation was not persisted properly due to the issue in the MUC MySQL schema
Both issues are now solved and deployed on
tigase.org. When we confirm that this works we should updatesure.imto fix this issue there.

When registering to the MUC room, the information is somehow gone after a while and notifications are no longer generated. At some point affiliation to the MUC room was lost. It could be caused by deregistration from the room but it is not confirmed.
