[root@localhost]/home/application/idea/tigase-server/scripts# vim tigase.sh 
[root@localhost]/home/application/idea/tigase-server/scripts# cd ..
[root@localhost]/home/application/idea/tigase-server# ./scripts/tigase.sh start ./etc/tigase.conf
TIGASE_HOME is not set.
Please set it to correct value before starting the sever.
[root@localhost]/home/application/idea/tigase-server#

As for your issue: please make sure that ${TIGASE_HOME}/jars/tigase-server.jar is valid/exists.
