XEP-401: Easy User Onboarding is a XEP allowing XMPP clients to request XMPP URI and landing pages from the server. Those can be used to send URI and URL to another user (even unfamiliar with XMPP) who could open a landing page, find a client for his operating system and then open URI (or QR code). Clients responding to the URI may suggest the creation of an account or adding a user to the roster.
This could be used as easy onboarding not only in open installations but also with closed installations where "admin" could generate a link to the account creation with token allowing for this account creation (IBR would reject account registration with invalid token).
