XEP-0368: SRV records for XMPP over TLS adds support for establishing an encrypted connection to the XMPP server instead of using plain TCP connection and then negotiation TLS encryption using TLS. With performance in mind, this new specification may remove one roundtrip between mobile client and the XMPP server which will reduce reconnection time.
