cannot set vcard4 information within application

crash.txt crash2.txt

Daniel Wisnewski commented 7 years ago

Submitting changes to profile crashes application, and information is not sent to server. Submitted two crash reports.

Setting to critical as it's in current version.

And now? ;-)

Daniel Wisnewski commented 7 years ago

It looks like the crash is fixed, it's ...slightly more stable. We're still not out of the woods yet.

Behavior now is as follows

. Clicking checkmark to push changes to vcard. App no longer crashes here.

. Uploading status shows.

  • If I tap anywhere in the screen, the loading screen goes away and seems to act normal

  • If I don't touch anything, the uploading window continues to show.

. In either case, the application crashes shortly after.

Good news is, changes to vCard are pushed to server, so that much works.

Behavior is the same on phones or tablet on my end, and I attempted on both local test server, and tigase.org.

Attaching another crash log - crash2.txt

And now?

Daniel Wisnewski commented 7 years ago

Application no longer crashes when sending vCard data, however application behavior is not quite right.

After ensuring device is online and available, I push new vCard information to server from device.

Uploading window shows with animation.

This continues for about a minute, minute thirty.

Status window says 'unable to upload to server'.

However, checking the vCard status, information is indeed uploaded to server correctly and pretty early. I think the application is expecting a result or something like that and is either not seeing it, or is unable to interpret it.

Attaching device log which starts from sending stanza.

Getting closer though!

This behavior is because of Bug #6293.

Messenger seems to works fine.

Daniel, I have added you to the project so you can communicate through the project management system.

Daniel Wisnewski commented 7 years ago

I can confirm this error does not exist when a photo is uploaded. I'm setting this to resolved since the error seems to be a result of a server error. It's probably safe to close, %kobit %bmalkow I will defer to you guys for ticket closure.
