Bringing back issue for the discussion purposes.
Following proposal:
-
possibility to set status (on per account basis)
-
possibility to enable/disable auto-presence:
-
option to set desired auto-away presence (away, xa) - including time or stick to only one? I would opt to use
<away/>
for away without more complications -
option to set desired auto-away priority (or would it be better to have global config which would assign priority to particular status, online=64, away=32, etc)?
-
option to control auto-away:
-
triggered by application focus and/or system sleep state (I would opt for the former, second seems irrational, as one may only check hour which would switch presence to online)
-
delay in setting online presence (when opening app) and away presence (when leaving the app) -- separate or same? leaving of the app could have longer delay (30s) as sometimes there's need to switch to other app to check something without actually being away - and we would prefer to avoid "presence blinking"
-
-
Bottomline for auto-away:
-
controlled by the app focus;
-
away could have 0 priority by default;
-
enabling auto-away after a longer delay.

It would be nice to have option to set status message as well as strict status (i.e. dnd/away/xa/online). Preferably on per account basis as well (#345) and whith auto-away disabled (#908)
