Unfortunately prediscovery will introduce a lot of unncessary traffic which will drain battery and will increase usage of mobile data transfer. It would be better to make sure it will work most of the time, ie. by providing support for proxy so it could cache image and deliver it to recipient ie. in form of a link to HTTP resource which would allow recipient without support for file transfer to recieve a file.

I agree, this makes sense. Especially the feature to use our proxy with the function to store files and deliver them later. This is something we already talked about a while ago.
