Please add a app lock for all your apps (#581)
Unknown opened 2 years ago

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Sometimes it's needed for me to pass the phone to a certain individual in my family for them to configure several applications, where I can't use guided access. Not related to this but a good example. Several private messaging apps may add things like a password lock, touch ID when launching the app, and I feel this XMPP client would be more complete with this.

Describe the solution you'd like Touch ID, Password, or PIN (user preference) to be placed when the app is launched. A choice can be configured where the app will lock instantly, after a span of time, or when the app is kill by the user, OR (for ios specific) the application falls asleep in ram i think but stays in the app tray

Describe alternatives you've considered for devices with more freedom, android you may use third party tools to place a lock on a app, or have a second device user that you can let others access without hesitation

Aren't devices locked anyway by default?

@licaon-kter "Sometimes it's needed for me to pass the phone to a certain individual in my family for them to configure several applications, where I can't use guided access. " so the idea is to unlock the phone so third party can fiddle with it but restrict access to the IMs...

To be honest I don't get the use-case. If you don't trust someone don't give them your phone. And if you have to just supervise what they do?

i said its unrelated, anyway its still additional security, and alot of secure applications use it for several reasons

Simplex has per chat passwords, will that be the next "additional security" you'll ask for?
