Crashes from test flight (#163)

This issue is to fix various crashes reported in TestFlight and fix issues related to XMPP Quickstart.

Crashes should be fixed now and XMPP Quickstart should work better. I still need to investigate the caching of the IP address and port of the server to which we have connected last time.
