Add menu item to open chat/channel (#353)

It would be nice to have a menu item (and associated shortcut) to open chat:

shortcuts are nice and quick
having menu item helps discover shortcuts

(less essential - sometimes it's impossible to click (+) button, there was a bug about it but it randomly keeps happening - having alternatives would be good)

No, as explained in the chat: current "Open chat" menu item takes you to search box which prevents you from joining groupchat channel. Separate entry with CMD+J would work.
