Looks like Beagle was not able to open a database. Most likely it was "blocked" by another process of BeagleIM running. From the logs there is nothing else which would possible help us diagnose this "issue" and new database layer is able to deal with "normal" lock in a far better way.

Yeah, two instances. As I commented on the IM - some sort of "progress dialogue" during upgrade could be useful.
Nothing was using sql file as far as I know...
